Grace Community Bible Church in Anderson Mill

As a missionary living in Vienna, Austria, Dave led Bible studies at the United Nations. He and Barbara also organized evangelistic discussion groups for reaching out to unbelievers living in Austria. In 1989, Dave took his first trip into Communist Eastern Europe with Biblical Education by Extension (BEE). One trip led to another, and Dave began traveling and teaching with BEE full-time in 1990. He taught pastors and church leaders in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Russia, and the Ukraine.

Their son, Philip, contracted a serious illness, and they had to move back to Texas with him in 1996. Dave has continued to travel as a missionary with BEE. The mission leads BEE seminars in Asian countries, some of which have governments that restrict or forbid missionary activity. Dave must teach these groups secretly like he did in the days of Communist Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. Barbara has also traveled to the Asian countries to teach pastors’ wives.
