Leon and Lorraine Dillinger have served under CrossWorld (formerly UFM International) since April, 1958 as missionaries among the primitive tribes of Papua, Indonesia (western half of the island of New Guinea). Their service has been almost entirely among the previously unreached primitive peoples of the interior highlands, the Dani tribe in particular. Initially their labors pertained to pioneering contacts, establishing forward bases (building airstrips) for sustaining resident contact, analyzing the respective language and culture characteristics and meeting the heartfelt needs of the tribes through medicine and community development helps.
The primary objective of the Dillinger's' service in Papua has always been that of sharing the message that Jesus Christ in His death completely provided for all people the only way of true forgiveness and guarantee of eternal life. |

The response of thousands of the Dani tribal people to this message has resulted in the burning of fetishes which formerly shackled them in subservience to the evil spirit world. Response led to the founding of a Bible Institute for the training of some to pastor the newly formed churches and others to move out as missionaries to other still unreached tribes. The Mulia Bible Institute has graduated hundreds of young couples.
The present ministry of the Dillinger's centers about further training of the national church leadership for their role of evangelism and church growth as well as extensive writing for the spiritual development of that leadership.
We have greatly enjoyed the fellowship with your church family of Grace Community Church, and very much appreciate being a part of your outreach of the nations. |
