Numbers - Tested and Sustained

May 9, 2010 by Tom Brunson

Numbers reveals God to be the Just God who directs His people, tests them to show them their nature, and sustains them as they wander while the disobedient generation passes off the scene. The people are commanded to "Go in" to the land, with faith that God will deliver it to them. God "numbers the nation" in a detailed census, showing how He has grown the small family of Jacob into this capable multitude. This also shows that this multitude is composed of individuals and families that God has individually chosen and equipped for specific roles. No one just gets lost in the crowd.
