Christ's Second Coming

March 6, 2011 by John Eastman

Because our Sunday morning sermon series on 2nd Peter will conclude this month, I’ll use this month’s article to connect with Peter’s focus on Christ's Second Coming. In his 2nd epistle, Peter warns his readers that there will be those who deny the Second Coming of Christ: 3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4 and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? (2 Peter 3:3-4). As in Peter’s day, so in ours; there are those who believe that He will not return. I’d like to answer...

Often, when David wrote a Psalm, he reached deep into the recesses of his being and exposes a full range of emotions. Someone has stated that the Psalms give the godly person a vehicle of responsive expression to God. That is so true! While this Psalm is first of all a great prayer its primary lesson is a model response for anyone experiencing trials. David wrote it in deep anguish over the apparent success of an unrelenting, unnamed enemy. It might have been Saul...

Below is a letter received from the Executive Director of The Friends of Israel ministry that I’ve deemed important for the entire Grace Family to read. The Friends of Israel organization is one of my favorite ministries that I’ve followed for more than 40 years of my pastoral ministry. If you are not a subscriber to their free bi-monthly (6 issues per year) magazine, “Israel My Glory,” you’re missing the best Christian journal on the market! “Israel My Glory” is of the finest quality and is a source of deep encouragement to Christians in this day and age of growing apostasy. A one-year subscription comes free of charge....
